I am a leader with over 12 years of experience in various areas of IT including business analysis, project management, application development, and vendor management. My experience has shown me that hard-work at the start of an effort will increase the likelihood of successful results at the end. Because of this belief, I am a believer in quality business analysis, vendor management, and project management.
Recently I have taken on roles of QA manager & SharePoint manager within my organization – a new adventure for me and I am loving them both!
I am a graduate student at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) working towards a dual-degree in International Business and Strategic Management.
My greatest treasure is my family. They are my inspiration.
I believe the underlying skills for success in any role are communication, management, coaching – which I truly believe are 3 underlying skills that can make or break a person – both personally & professionally. I use these skills daily whether at work, at school or at home. I may be the only mom who has built a development plan for her kids! Laugh if you want but it is a great communication tool between the kids, the parents, and the teachers!
Regardless of title, I believe we are all in a position to be leaders every day. I enjoy coaching others to help them find their passions to lead them towards a more successful career and life.
I am a member of the IIBA and regularly participate with the Kansas City chapter. You can check out my LinkedIn profile to view a list of my experiences and professional associations. I recently published my first book with some colleagues – Reducing Risk and Maximizing Investments through IT Asset Management, which is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. In November 2011, I presented at the Building Business Capabilities conference on the topic of developing a BA Center of Excellence (BA CoE).
